The hustle and the bustle and the skyline
I forgot to remember now I'm running out of time
So I'm gonna book me flight in the morning

O I'll tel me ma I'll miss her and I'll kiss her on the cheek
I'll tell my brother and my sister to be happy
And we'll shed a few tears
Separated a few years
And the babies they wont be long in nappies

So off I go across the pond to bond with kindred spirits
Who drifted too after their educations
And sought a little more reward for work
Maybe they could afford to see the world
And escape deprivation

And homesick blues will come with booze

In a reverie of love and pride until your friend gets in a fight

Years go by and people die and its hard to say goodbye
Expensive flights an obstacle in mourning
